Aims and Scope
Aims
Journal of Tropical Agricultural Biotechnology (JTAB) aims to advance the understanding and application of biotechnology in the context of tropical agriculture. The journal emphasizes innovations that address the unique biological, ecological, and socio-economic challenges of tropical regions. We seek to bridge the gap between molecular-level research and practical applications that contribute to sustainable agricultural development in tropical climates.
Scope
JTAB publishes original research articles, reviews, and short communications in areas including but not limited to:
-
Tropical plant and animal biotechnology for crop and livestock improvement
-
Biotechnological solutions to pest and disease management specific to tropical ecosystems
-
Indigenous microbial biotechnology and its applications in tropical soil and water management
-
Functional genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics applied to tropical species
-
Bioinformatics approaches tailored for tropical biodiversity
-
Development and deployment of biotechnologies that promote climate-resilient agriculture in the tropics
-
Ethical, cultural, and policy dimensions of biotechnology adoption in tropical agricultural systems
-
Community-based biotechnology innovations and traditional knowledge integration in tropical settings
The journal prioritizes submissions that offer field-tested outcomes, demonstrate scalability, or provide significant contributions to policy and practice in tropical agriculture.
